據《華爾街日報》上週報道稱，ICE美國期貨交易所12月份交割的Arabica咖啡期貨價格下跌了近2%，報每磅1.1050美元，創下主力合約自2006年9月14日以來的最低收盤價。事實上，今年截至目前爲止，Arabica咖啡豆的價格已經下跌了29%，其原因在於哥倫比亞和中美洲 的供應量十分充足。</p>

然而，儘管咖啡公司、咖啡館和街邊食品店經常都會上調咖啡價格，但卻幾乎從來不會降價。在2013年6月份，星巴克將美國連鎖店的三分之一飲料價格平均上調了1%；而在此前的2012年，星巴克將涵蓋紐約、波士頓、亞特蘭大和達拉斯在內的美國東北部地區和南部地區 的大多數連鎖店中許多飲料的價格都上調了1%左右。在更早的2011年，星巴克將袋裝咖啡的價格上調了17%。</p>

儘管批發價格下降，但今年星巴克旗下連鎖店並未採取降價措施。不過，在今年5月份，星巴克稱其已將12盎司袋裝星巴克咖啡和西雅圖Best袋裝咖啡的食品店零售價下調了10%或更多。</p>
